About This Event
The 21st International Conference on African Culture and Sociology will take place on January 8, 2027, in Toronto, Canada. This in-person conference brings together sociologists, anthropologists, academic researchers, cultural scholars, development professionals, policymakers, students, community leaders, and other professionals interested in African societies, cultures, and contemporary social issues.
The conference will focus on areas such as African cultural identities, social structures, African diaspora studies, decolonizing sociological methodologies, oral traditions and cultural memory, gender and society, urbanization and social change, African philosophy, indigenous knowledge, Pan-Africanism, religion and social cohesion, youth culture, ethnicity, migration, transnationalism, and cultural preservation.
Participants will have opportunities to attend keynote and technical sessions, participate in panel discussions and Q&A, build professional and academic connections, and exchange perspectives with attendees from diverse cultural and disciplinary backgrounds.
