Seat Map & Reserved Seating

How to Let Buyers Choose Their Own Seat

Created: Today

When you enable a seat map on a ticket tier, you can choose whether buyers pick their own seat at checkout or whether seats are assigned automatically.

Enable buyer seat selection

  1. Open the ticket creation or update form for the tier with a seat map enabled.
  2. Under the seat map settings, find the Allow attendees to pick seats option.
  3. Select Attendees pick seats.
  4. Save the ticket tier.

When buyers reach the seat selection step at checkout, they will see an interactive seat map and choose their preferred seat. Their selection is held temporarily while they complete the purchase.

Automatic seat assignment

If you prefer not to let buyers choose, select Seats assigned automatically. The next available seat will be assigned after the purchase is confirmed. Buyers will see: "Seats will be assigned automatically after booking."

Which to use

  • Buyer selection works well for events where seat position matters significantly, theatre, dining, concerts with reserved rows.
  • Automatic assignment is simpler for events where buyers do not have strong preferences about specific seats and you want to fill the venue efficiently.

What buyers see

When buyer selection is enabled, a note appears on the event page under the ticket tier: "You can select a seat at checkout." For auto-assign, it shows: "Seats will be assigned automatically after booking."
