You can update a seat map at any time from the ticket management area. However, changes are restricted once seats have been held, reserved, or assigned to buyers.
Edit an existing seat map
- Go to My Events → Live Events and open your event's ticket management.
- Find the ticket tier with the seat map and click Manage from its dropdown.
- The Update Ticket form opens. Update the seat map settings, rows, seats per row, seat naming, blocked seats, or selection mode.
- Click Update.
Restrictions on changes
If any seats have already been held, reserved, or assigned (meaning buyers have started or completed checkout for specific seats), the following restrictions apply:
- Shrinking the layout: You cannot reduce the number of rows or seats per row if doing so would remove seats that are already assigned. The error will show: "This layout cannot be shrunk because seats outside the new layout are held, reserved, or assigned."
- Blocking seats: You can only block seats that are currently available. You cannot block a seat that has already been held, reserved, or assigned. The error will show: "Only available seats can be newly blocked. Some selected blocked seats are already held, reserved, or assigned."
To make a restricted change, the affected seats must first be freed (orders refunded or cancelled).
Remove the seat map from a ticket tier
- Open the Update Ticket form for the tier.
- Untick the Enable seat map checkbox.
- Click Update.
The seat map is removed and the ticket tier returns to standard general admission. Only possible if no seats are currently assigned to buyers.
