If you can no longer attend an event, you can officially transfer your ticket to another person. The original ticket is voided once the recipient accepts, and a new ticket is issued to them. You keep the ticket until they accept, nothing changes on your end until the transfer is complete.
Before you start
- The recipient needs an email address, they will receive an invitation link at that address.
- Transfers must be completed before the event's transfer cutoff. Once the cutoff passes, the option will no longer be available. See Why a ticket transfer may not be available.
- The organiser must have enabled transfers for the ticket tier you purchased.
Initiate the transfer
- Log in and go to the Tickets section of your account.
- Open the ticket you want to transfer.
- Find the Ticket transfer section. It shows the description: "Send this ticket to another person. They must accept before ownership changes."
- Enter the recipient's email address in the Receiver email field.
- Click Transfer.
You will see the confirmation: "Transfer invitation sent." The ticket now shows a pending status with the message: "Transfer pending for [email]. The ticket remains yours until they accept."
What happens next
The recipient receives an email with a secure link to accept the ticket. Until they accept, the ticket remains active on your account. If they do not accept before the cutoff, the transfer expires and the ticket stays with you.
