Combining coupon codes with affiliate referral links gives promoters two tools at once: a discount to offer their audience, and a tracking link that records their sales for commission. Together, they create a stronger incentive for buyers and a clearer record of which promoter drove which sales.
The combination
- Affiliate link, the promoter's unique ShowRave referral link. When someone clicks it and buys a ticket, the promoter earns commission. The link tracks clicks and sales automatically.
- Coupon code, a discount code the promoter shares alongside their link. Buyers enter it at checkout to get a price reduction. You can see how many times each code was used.
Set it up
- Create a unique coupon code for the promoter. Go to My Events → Coupons for your event and create a General coupon with the discount amount and a quantity limit. Give the code a name that identifies the promoter, for example, their username or initials. See How to create a coupon code for promoters.
- Give each promoter their own ShowRave referral link. Direct them to showrave.com/partner/earn to get their unique link. See How to create an affiliate link for your event.
- Brief the promoter. Ask them to share both together, their referral link as the destination and their coupon code for the discount. For example: "Use my link to book: [link] and enter code PROMO10 at checkout for a discount."
Tracking performance
The promoter tracks their commission earnings in their own referral dashboard. You can track coupon code usage in My Events → Coupons → Manage Coupons. By giving each promoter a distinct code, you can see exactly how many tickets each one sold.
