Scanning & Check-in

How to Check Scanner Status

Created: Today

The Status screen shows whether the app is ready to scan and gives a summary of network connection, camera access, saved ticket data, and device information. Check it before doors open if you are not sure the device is ready.

Open the Status screen

From the Home screen, tap Status. The screen is titled Scanner status.

What the Status screen shows

  • Network, whether the device is connected to the internet. Required for syncing events and uploading offline scans.
  • Camera, whether camera access has been granted. If it shows "Permission needed", tap Allow camera to open your phone settings and grant access.
  • Saved tickets, the number of events and ticket holders saved on this device, pending upload count, last sync time, and sync expiry date.
  • Device, the platform (iOS or Android) and the app version.

If the status shows a problem

  • No network: Connect to Wi-Fi or mobile data before syncing or uploading. Scanning against a saved sync still works without network.
  • Camera permission needed: Tap Allow camera to go to your phone settings and enable camera access for the ShowRave Scanner app.
  • Sync expired: Go to the event list, select the event, and resync to download a fresh ticket list.

Clear saved data

The Status screen also has a Clear saved data option that removes synced ticket lists and pending upload scans from the device. Use this if you need to free up space or reset the device's local data. The event's check-in records are not affected.
