Manual scan lets you look up a ticket by typing or pasting its reference directly, without using the camera. Use it when a QR code is damaged, the screen is too dim to scan, or the attendee does not have their phone available.
Open Manual Scan
From the Home screen, tap Manual scan. The screen is titled Manual scan with the instruction: "Use this when the camera cannot read a QR code."
Look up a ticket
- In the Ticket reference field, type or paste the ticket's reference number. You can also paste the full ticket URL, the app extracts the reference automatically.
- Tap Check Ticket.
If the reference matches a ticket in the synced event, the result shows the ticket holder's name, ticket type, and admission status. If the event has assigned seating, the seat label is also shown.
Admitting from manual scan
If the ticket is valid and has not been admitted, tap Admit Ticket to record the entry. The same admission rules apply as camera scanning, if the phone is offline, the admission is saved on this device and uploads automatically when it reconnects.
Matching tickets
If there are multiple matching tickets (for example, a group booking), the app shows all matches under Matching tickets so you can confirm you are admitting the right one.
