How to Postpone or Reschedule Your Event

If your event needs to move to a different date, update the event details through the Edit page. The change takes effect immediately and your event page will show the new date.

Update the event date

  1. In the organiser sidebar, go to My Events → Live Events.
  2. Find your event and click Edit.
  3. Update the Event Date field to the new date.
  4. If the start time or duration is also changing, update those fields.
  5. Click Save changes.

The event page will show the updated date immediately. Calendar files already downloaded by attendees will reflect the old date until they re-download.

Tell your attendees

We do not send an automatic notification when you edit event details. After saving the new date, send a message to your attendees with the updated information. Go to Marketing → Messages, click New message, and notify everyone who holds a ticket. Include the original date, the new date, the reason for the change if appropriate, and any action they need to take.

If the date change is significant

Some attendees may not be able to attend the rescheduled date. Consider how you will handle requests from buyers who can no longer attend. Refunds are handled case by case through support. See How to get a refund for a ticket and the ShowRave Refund Policy.
