This article explains the buyer-side checkout flow, useful for organisers who want to understand what their attendees experience when purchasing tickets.
The checkout flow
- The buyer selects their tickets on the event page and clicks Book Now.
- On the checkout page, they review the Order Summary, tickets selected, AddOns, and the total amount.
- If they have a coupon code, they enter it in the Coupon Code field and click Apply.
- They fill in their Billing information, name, email, phone, and address.
- They select a payment method:
- Pay by Card, standard credit or debit card
- Pay with Crypto, if cryptocurrency payments are enabled
- They click Confirm & Pay.
Once payment is confirmed, the buyer receives a ticket confirmation email with their QR code immediately.
Free tickets
For free tickets, the checkout still runs but payment is not required. The buyer confirms their order and receives a ticket by email with a QR code, the same as a paid ticket.
What attendees need
- A ShowRave account. If they do not have one, they can create one directly at checkout without leaving the page.
- A valid payment method for paid events.
Coupon codes at checkout
If you have distributed coupon codes, attendees enter them in the Coupon Code field on the checkout page before paying. The discount is applied to the order total automatically. See How to create a discount coupon code.
